ForteBank has joined an international syndicate of banks that has provided JSC Almaty International Airport with financing totalling USD 670 million. ForteBank’s share amounts to USD 50 million. The financing matures on 30 June 2033.
The agreement comprises a USD 650 million term loan and a USD 20 million revolving credit facility. The transaction was arranged by Bank of America Europe DAC.
Part of the proceeds will be used to refinance loans raised to acquire the airport and build its new international terminal. The financing will also support the further development of the airfield infrastructure, de-icing facilities and the airport’s cargo complex. Funds drawn under the revolving credit facility are intended for working capital purposes.
“Almaty Airport is a key transport hub whose development matters for the entire region. Our participation in this transaction reflects ForteBank’s ability to work alongside international financial institutions on large-scale infrastructure projects,” said Talgat Kuanyshev, CEO of ForteBank.
